The July 2016 meeting of TPA will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday 20 July, at the Shed, 29 Macquarie Street. The agenda for the meeting is attached.
The fence will be the main discussion point, so please make an effort to be at the meeting to demonstrate your support for the TPA and Teneriffe. The petition to Council to STOP THE FENCE has over 1000 names on it, but we need to keep up the campaign. So please bring your enthusiasm, your cash and your support to the meeting, because: Teneriffe is Our Suburb. Our community.
Sorry to send two emails in two days but I was informed that the BCC had closed the Mactaggarts Fence petition early and thanks to them it has now been extended until Thursday.
The link to the BCC webpage is as follows, http://www.epetitions.brisbane.qld.gov.au/petition/view/pid/350
I want to advise you that tomorrow is your last day to sign the online BCC petition.
Please pass this on to anyone who didn't get a chance to sign the paper petition at the Teneriffe Festival last Saturday. It will be available until Monday.
We have had an amazing response with over 800 signatures on paper and online so thank you to everyone so far.
Please also consider paying your TPA membership fee as it is only $20 and is a small investment to protect your suburb of Teneriffe.
Mactaggarts unwanted fence
I would like to let you know that an ePetition regarding the Mactaggarts Fence is uploaded on BCC website and available for anyone to join/sign/support. Please pass this on to anyone who didn't get a chance to sign the paper petition at the Festival on Saturday. It will be available until Monday, when I shall submit the paper petition to Council also.
Thank you in anticipation of a good strong showing of local opinion and you only need to sign one option of paper or online. There are paper copies of the petition in some Teneriffe businesses.
TPA has again written to Cllr Vicki Howard urging Council action in relation to the proposed fence at Mactaggarts Place. The letter is attached.
TPA has written to Stirling Hinchliffe, Queensland Goverment Minister for Transport regarding the issue of permitting passengers to take their pets on the cross-river ferry between Teneriffe and Bulimba. The letter is attached.
