PARKing Day in Robertson Street

Submitted by Ben Pritchard on Fri, 18/09/2015 - 3:42pm

Tonight, Friday 18 September, there will be a street event in Robertson Street, Fortitude Valley (the James Street end of the street). It is PARKing Day - an event to use the street for people, not cars.

The event has been organised with the assistance of our very own Cameron Perkins, Executive Committee member of TPA. The event is an example of how communities can reclaim streets in their area and use them for community building events. Get along tonight - any time after 4:00pm - and see what can happen.

Letter from Cr Howard

Submitted by TPA Editor on Wed, 16/09/2015 - 6:35pm

Dear Teneriffe Resident

I wanted to let you know that the Planning and Environment Court has given approval for the re-purposing of the disused former Engine Room on Macquarie Street Teneriffe. The existing brick building is in need of repair, and it would be best used as a café style facility for the benefit of everyone to experience this lovely heritage building.

Urgent - TPA meeting tonight

Submitted by TPA Editor on Wed, 19/08/2015 - 2:12pm

Dear TPA member

A last minute reminder the make sure you don’t miss tonight’s meeting.

Hear first-hand a personal experience from a Teneriffe resident who has been impacted by a decision of the BCC which has caused a couple years of stress and financial hardship.

You will be told how a meeting between six long term Teneriffe residents and the BCC could have avoided all of this but the BCC chose to not consult directly with them.

Healthy Waterways

Submitted by Ben Pritchard on Mon, 27/07/2015 - 10:47am

Healthy Waterways, a quasi-governmental organisation (QUANGO), has issued the attached email survey requesting feedback from anyone who uses, enjoys or has an opinion about the health and usefulness of the waterways in Southeast Queensland.

We will discuss at the August meeting whether TPA should make a response to the submission, but if anyone wished to complete the survey in their own capacity and identity, please follow the link in the attachment.

Thank you to Stephen Harper for bringing the survey to the attention of TPA.
