This Sunday is – Clean Up Teneriffe

Submitted by TPA Editor on Mon, 23/02/2015 - 8:00pm

Come and make sure our beautiful suburb is part of the successful Clean Up day.

Meet at  our ‘Teneriffe Shed’ the Railwayman’s Hut  at 1 Macquarie Street Teneriffe.

Start time 8:00am this Sunday morning.

We have registered with the national organisers, and will have the kit inc rubbish bags, etc supplied.

In the interests of health and safety, please bring gloves, hats, drinking water and sensible footwear. If people have rubbish bags or sacks that would be helpful, too.

Free BBQ afterwards at our “Teneriffe Shed”

Thank you to everyone who came out to help us Clean Up Teneriffe today. Over 60 volunteers made a big difference by picking up over 18 sacks of litter from our streets.
The litter pickers enjoyed a great BBQ at the 'Teneriffe Shed' afterwards. A special thank you to our local politicians, Vicki Howard, Grace Grace and Teresa Gambaro, representing us at Council, State and Federal government levels, respectively, who contributed to the day's events in various ways. Our thanks also to Rayners Gourmet Meats, and to the local Scout group, which lent us the BBQ and the chefs to cook the sausages after the litter picking.
To the volunteers who contributed to the organisation of the day, we say a big thank you. Teneriffe is even more attractive as a result of your work today.
