Mactaggarts Place Archway

Submitted by Ben Pritchard on Sat, 29/04/2017 - 5:44pm

The concrete archway next to Dot Coffee Shop at Mactaggarts Place, Vernon Terrace, is under threat of demolition. In November 2016 the body corporate of Mactaggarts Place sought, and was granted, an Exemption Certificate by Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP), the State Government department charged with preserving the heritage of the state. This Exemption Certificate apparently permits the demolition of the archway, the repositioning of a part of it somewhere else in Mactaggarts Place, and the display of some interpretive material.

Support for Formation of Teneriffe Progress Association

Submitted by Grace Grace on Mon, 19/12/2011 - 12:27pm

Dear Roger,

It was pleasure to meet you recently regarding the establishment of the Teneriffe Progress Association.

As discussed, I wish to confirm that I am very much in support of the
forming the Teneriffe Progress Association and I look forward to working with TPA in the future. I commend the TPA on its objectives to protect and preserve the character, amenity and streetscape of Teneriffe, a suburb which I, together with Councillor Hinchliffe, had reinstated from a locality back to suburb status and of which I am very proud.
